| Q: |
I'm an actor. How can I get a role in what's filming in New York? Can I send you my headshot?
|
| A: |
We are not involved with the casting process, so please do not send us your headshots. However, you can do one of several things: approach the production’s casting company, sign up for extras/background work and/or apply to several of New York’s casting agents and services. Click here for a list of New York’s Casting Agencies – those that specialize in background work are listed as well. Please do not approach productions as they are filming in the streets – that is disruptive and unprofessional.

| Q: |
How do I apply to work on a film?
|
| A: |
You will likely need to apply to the production company and/or the production office directly. Please keep in mind that some jobs are strictly union jobs. Depending on the area of the state you live/work in, it would also be a good idea to reach out to your local film office. For a list of Regional Film Offices through out New York State please go to our Useful Links page. If you are in the New York City area, the Mayor’s Office of Film, Theatre and Broadcasting, will periodically offer information on careers in the film industry. For more information go to www.nyc.gov/film.
