Q: What is "The Zone"?
A: Most people refer to the “studio zone” as anywhere within a 25 mile radius extending outward from Columbus Circle. (For some unions and contracts the zone may vary so check with them directly.) This “zone” covers anything in the five boroughs, most of Nassau County and the lower portions of Rockland and Westchester Counties. You can find a general zone map in a copy of NYPG.
Q: What are the Union Rates?
A: It depends on your contract and is something that is negotiated directly with the Unions. Go to our "Useful Links" page for a list of Unions & Guilds.
Q: I'm an independent film. Where can I get information on the different contracts available to me?
A: We have some of that very information outlined on our "Union & Guilds Info" page, along with contact numbers. Check it out.
